> Democrats are so dumb they think it´s cool to have a jackass for their party symbol. The association goes back to the election of 1828. Andrew Jackson´s opponents started calling him Jackass Jackson as a term of derision. The story is the old general took a shine to the name and started printing up posters with a picture of a jackass next to his name. Over the years the symbol just sort of stuck. Sometime in the 1870s humorist Thomas Nast created a cartoon for Harper´s Weekly that portrayed the Democratic jackass and the newly created Republican elephant. Ever since then they´ve been the party mascots. Pretty appropriate if you think about it, one is an ass, and the other one drops a really big load. Politics 101. All it takes is an ass and a really big load of shit. Put the two together and you´ve got a politician. This book is a snarky, somewhat twisted look at politics. Along the way, you´ll meet Obama, Clinton, and Biden. Even though it´s a book about democrats we´re going to do a little Bush bashing - father and son. If you dislike Democrats this may be the book for you. If you dislike politics in general, this may be the book for you. I´m a political agnostic. I´ve got no love for Democrats, Republicans, or the Tea Party. And, yes, that irreverence shows throughout the book. If you´re fed up with politics, politicians, and all of their BS - Read this book, and register a vote for sanity. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Dave Wright. A ground-breaking exploration of feminism´s most buzzy topic. Gemma Hartley wrote an article in Harper´s Bazaar in September 2017 called ´Women Aren´t Nags - We´re Just Fed Up´, which instantly went viral. The piece, and this book, is about ´emotional labour´, i.e. the unpaid, often unnoticed work, done by women, that goes into keeping everyone comfortable and happy. Fed Up tackles the hard-hitting issues surrounding emotional labour: the historical underpinnings and roots in feminism, the benefits and burdens of this kind of effort, and the specific contexts where emotional labour, otherwise known as the ´mental load´, plays a major but undervalued role, including relationships, work, sex, parenting, politics and self-care. Dubbed as the next feminist frontier, emotional labour couldn´t be more relevant to these times we´re living in. Fed Up is a must-read for those who want to harness the power of emotional labour and create a more connected, equal world.

Just for a day, Colorado cop David Wolf trades slogging through murky meltwaters and even murkier small-town politics for an overnight camping trip in the wilderness with his son. But when a man with fresh burns turns up on their trail, falling from the heavy load in his backpack and running wild from something, Wolf suspects his father-son camping trip may have just taken a turn for the worse. Unfortunately his instincts are spot on, and Wolf is forced into action with the last person he wants by his side in a deadly battle - his only son. When news of their harrowing escape from certain death travels through the valleys, local FBI agents want to take over Wolf´s investigation, hoping to halt murder and corruption originating 7000 miles away in Afghanistan. Wolf ignores the FBI´s order to stand down, even if the case involves a matter of national security. Not when his son´s safety is at stake. In this stomach-dropping third installment of the David Wolf series, Wolf partners with a beautiful FBI agent to bust an inter-continental conspiracy threatening anyone who has the bad enough luck to stumble on it. Alive and Killing is an action-packed mystery-thriller that will grab and pin you down until the very end. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Sean Patrick Hopkins. One snarky heroine and her band of misfits up against, well, pretty much everyone else. Indy Jackson is a stubborn space pirate with two goals in life: keep her father´s underground operation alive and hunt down his murderer. When Indy is framed for an alien massacre, she is forced to go on the run to clear her name and attempt something dozens of professionals before her have failed to achieve: find Constellation, the Sector´s fabled battlecruiser. Missing in action, and believed to be destroyed in the last Great War, Constellation is the only warship capable of defending the Sector against its mightiest enemy, the Blood Empire. But the Sector is crumbling and on the brink of civil war. If Indy sides with the wrong faction, then no one will survive the Blood Empire´s onslaught. Especially not Indy, her brother, and her ragtag crew. Will Indy make the right choice and successfully play the Sector´s fragile politics...or will the Galaxy fall into disarray, bringing death and destruction to all? Constellation is the first book in a fast-paced space opera saga.
